Update on Avian Flu in Jackson Hole

Dr. Dan Forman--local veterinarian and chair of the Teton District Board of Health--wrote an article this week for the Jackson Hole News and Guide, "Avian flu a small risk to our local songbirds".

Although the last confirmed case of avian flu in Jackson Hole was reported in June, Forman wrote that outbreaks will continue to occur. Keeping bird feeders clean is "always a good idea," he wrote.

In his article Forman also included state and federal references on avian influenza:

Wyoming Game and Fish: https://wgfd.wyo.gov/

Wyoming Livestock Board: https://wlsb.state.wy.us/

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: https://www.cdc.gov/flu/avianflu/avian-in-birds.htm
